This large-format, catalogue of works presents objects formed from paper-mache, wire, steel and wood, created by Swiss sculptor Heiri Häfliger, who for a long time worked in the studios of Franz West in Vienna. With their discrete colours, fragility, and auratic complexity, the objects take on a persistent life of their own. His sculptures can be extended spatially into installations, or they may casually become playful and self-ironic design solutions. They create atmospheres – weightless, richly relational, animated with poetic humour. The book refers melancholically to an ending, at the same time as it points to the artist’s transition to a new epoch.
